Following this, Uniswap will burn 100 million UNI\u2014an amount equivalent to the hypothetical protocol fees had the &#8220;fee switch&#8221; been active since the asset&#8217;s inception.<\/p>\n<p>The project&#8217;s implementation was delayed for years due to the firm stance of the <span data-descr=\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span> under <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/gary-genslers-departure-a-retrospective-on-the-sec-chairs-tenure\">Gary Gensler<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>UNIfication will also consolidate all operations: the team and responsibilities of the Uniswap Foundation will transfer to Uniswap Labs. Interface fees will be abolished. Wallets and API services will have an annual development budget funded by UNI tokens.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;I believe the Uniswap protocol can become the primary venue for token trading. This proposal lays the foundation for its growth over the next decade,&#8221; commented Adams.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The crypto community <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/wagmiAlexander\/status\/2004286359939567788\">hailed<\/a> the approval of UNIfication as a turning point for DeFi. According to ether.fi CEO Mike Silagadze, the key trend will be a focus on revenues and other fundamental project metrics.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;Tokens with well-designed value capture mechanisms will significantly outperform the rest,&#8221; <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MikeSilagadze\/status\/2004307828249710804\"><em>he stated<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the past 24 hours, the price of UNI rose by 2.9%.
