A move of the shorter SMA above the longer one is traditionally interpreted as a resumption of upward momentum on short-term timeframes.<\/p>\n<p>However, before this \u201cinevitable\u201d step, the market should revisit the yearly open to retest it.<\/p>\n<p>The longer-term outlook also looks murky, he stressed. According to him, capital inflows into the first cryptocurrency have dried up, and liquidity has shifted into stocks and gold.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Three \u2018checkpoints\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>Some experts expect bitcoin to set new all-time highs in 2026. Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan <a href=\"https:\/\/experts.bitwiseinvestments.com\/cio-memos\/three-checkpoints-for-a-rally\">said<\/a> that to reach an ATH the crypto market will need to clear three \u201ccheckpoints\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>He named the first and most important as the successful passage of the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/experts-assess-the-impact-of-the-clarity-act-on-bitcoin-dynamics\">Clarity Act <\/a>through the U.S. Congress. Its adoption would create legal clarity and provide a foundation for long-term industry growth, he believes.<\/p>\n<p>The second condition is the full dissipation of the aftermath of the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/whales-adl-and-the-end-of-the-bull-what-really-happened-on-cryptos-black-saturday-2\">crash of 10\u201311 October 2025<\/a>, when liquidations topped $19bn in a day. While direct correlation is low, sharp swings on Wall Street \u2014 for example, a 20% drop in the S&#038;P 500 \u2014 would weigh on cryptocurrencies.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cI do not claim any special expertise regarding the stock market.
