This includes reducing our team size and parting ways with a number of\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 JP Mullin (\ud83d\udd49, \ud83c\udfd8\ufe0f) (@jp_mullin888) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jp_mullin888\/status\/2011367190868738403?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 14, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>He explained the decision was due to &#8220;extremely unfortunate and unfair events of April 2025,&#8221; a prolonged market downturn, and increased competition, which rendered the company&#8217;s cost structure &#8220;unsustainable.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>The layoffs affected the business development, marketing, and HR departments.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;I take full responsibility for these decisions and the path that led us here. I understand this is an incredibly difficult situation, especially for those directly affected, their families, and everyone at Mantra. I am particularly sorry for those who are leaving,&#8221; wrote Mullin.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the spring, the OM token price suddenly <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/mantra-token-plummets-90-amid-allegations-of-reckless-liquidations\">plummeted<\/a> by 90%\u2014from around $6.3 to below $0.5. The market cap fell by $5.5 billion. The community suspected fraud. However, Mullin assured that the cause was large-scale liquidations of positions using OM as collateral. <\/p>\n<p>Later, researchers at OddEyeResearch <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/insider-collusion-blamed-for-mantra-token-crash\">concluded<\/a> that the coin collapsed due to insider manipulation, with insiders controlling over 90% of the supply.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, OM is trading around $0.08 with a market cap of $93.3 million. In early January, it <a href=\"https:\/\/mantrachain.io\/resources\/announcements\/introducing-mantrausd\">launched<\/a> the mantraUSD stablecoin, backed by U.S. Treasury bonds, and reminded OM holders of the need to migrate from the Ethereum network to the native blockchain.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;To survive in the current conditions and regain our leadership position, we must radically improve capital efficiency and work with increased focus,&#8221; he wrote. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the coming weeks, the Mantra team will provide more details about their plans, Mullin promised. <\/p>\n<p>Back in July 2025, the company behind MetaMask <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/metamask-developer-consensys-to-lay-off-47-employees-amid-crypto-market-growth\">laid off<\/a> 47 people. <\/p>\n<p>In August, the team behind the Lido liquid staking platform <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/lido-reduces-workforce-by-15\">announced<\/a> a workforce reduction of about 15%.
