{"id":93150,"date":"2026-01-14T21:11:04","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T18:11:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=93150"},"modified":"2026-01-14T21:15:17","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T18:15:17","slug":"uk-abandons-mandatory-digital-ids","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/uk-abandons-mandatory-digital-ids\/","title":{"rendered":"UK Abandons Mandatory Digital IDs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The government of UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c3385zrrx73o\">relaxed<\/a> the rules for digital IDs, eliminating the requirement for employment. <\/p>\n<p>Introduced in September 2025, the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uk-plans-to-introduce-digital-identity-system\">BritCard initiative<\/a> aimed to combat illegal immigration and simplify the bureaucratic system.
