The video platform YouTube is set to introduce new AI-based tools for creators and intensify its efforts against low-quality content. This was announced<\/a> by its CEO, Neal Mohan.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Users will have the ability to create Shorts using digital avatars, generate games from text descriptions, and experiment with musical compositions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThroughout this evolution, AI will remain a tool for self-expression, not a replacement for the creator,\u201d emphasized the platform’s CEO.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Integrating artificial intelligence into the Shorts section has become a key priority for the YouTube team.<\/p>\n

In September, YouTube already implemented<\/a> a special version of the Veo 3 video generator, added a new remix tool, and Edit with AI. Prior to this, the platform also introduced<\/a> the ability to convert images into six-second clips.<\/p>\n

User Protection<\/h2>\n

YouTube will introduce labeling for content created using internal AI tools. Creators will be required to disclose the use of neural networks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Simultaneously, YouTube is updating its Content ID system. New algorithms will allow artists and rights holders to track and control the use of their likeness and voice in generated videos.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a systemic measure, we support key legislative initiatives such as the <\/em>NO FAKES Act<\/em><\/a>, to protect creative integrity in the digital age,\u201d added Mohan.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Combating Low-Quality Content<\/h2>\n

A priority strategy will be to combat AI-slop<\/a>\u2014low-quality digital content that artificial intelligence generates on a large scale.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an open platform, we allow a spectrum of free expression, but we strive to ensure that YouTube remains a place where people enjoy spending time,\u201d noted the platform’s head.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In this direction, YouTube is developing \u201cverified systems that successfully combat spam and clickbait,\u201d as well as reduce the spread of repetitive videos.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to Mohan, artificial intelligence should become a bridge \u201cconnecting curiosity with deep understanding.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The platform is already actively using technology to enhance the accessibility of video content. In December, more than 6 million users watched videos with automatic dubbing for at least 10 minutes daily.<\/p>\n
