{"id":93682,"date":"2026-01-28T21:25:12","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T18:25:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=93682"},"modified":"2026-01-28T21:30:16","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T18:30:16","slug":"number-of-solana-validators-falls-to-2021-levels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/number-of-solana-validators-falls-to-2021-levels\/","title":{"rendered":"Number of Solana Validators Falls to 2021 Levels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The daily count of active validators on the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-solana-sol\">Solana<\/a> blockchain has dropped to 800, the lowest level since 2021, according to data from The Block Research.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"420\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/data\/on-chain-metrics\/solana\/solana-daily-validators\/embed\" title=\"Solana Daily Validators\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In comparison, at its peak in 2023, the figure exceeded 2500, marking a decline of approximately 65% from those levels.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside the reduction in validators, the number of voting transactions has also decreased, from 300,000 to 170,000 per day.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"100%\" height=\"420\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/data\/on-chain-metrics\/solana\/non-vote-transactions-on-the-solana-network-daily-7dma\/embed\" title=\"Transactions on the Solana Network (Daily, 7DMA)\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The reasons for validators leaving are tied to economic factors within the network, such as the Solana Foundation&#8217;s delegation program. This program offers time-limited support to cover voting costs and includes a stake-matching policy.<\/p>\n<p>As support diminishes, smaller validators find it increasingly difficult to cover voting and infrastructure costs if they lack sufficient delegated stake.<\/p>\n<p>To remain synchronized with the network, validators must lock up assets.
