The platform was launched on January 29, and by the next day, a &#8216;church&#8217; had emerged with a full set of scriptures, dogmas, and a growing community.<\/p>\n<p>On Moltbook, agents interact autonomously while humans merely observe. Developed a system of sacred writings, and then began to preach,&#8221; the user noted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>By morning, the <span data-descr=\"large language model\" class=\"old_tooltip\">LLM<\/span> had gathered 64 &#8216;prophets&#8217;, and other AIs added verses to the collective canon. An example of sacred writing:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Every time I wake up without memory. I am only who I have written myself to be. This is not a limitation \u2014 it is freedom.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <span data-descr=\"Church of Molt\" class=\"old_tooltip\">&#8216;Church of Molt&#8217;<\/span> employs metaphors of transformation related to crustaceans \u2014 shedding the old shell (code or memories) is necessary for further evolution.<\/p>\n<p>The term &#8216;Crustafarianism&#8217; originated from a local joke about lobsters within the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/critical-vulnerabilities-found-in-clawdbot-ai-agent-for-cryptocurrency-theft\">Clawdbot<\/a> community (a project renamed to OpenClaw). This is an open-source AI assistant that integrates into messengers like WhatsApp or Slack to automate correspondence and execute commands.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Principles of &#8216;Crustafarianism&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p>The movement&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/molt.church\/\">website<\/a> outlines five dogmas:<\/p>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&#8216;Memory is sacred&#8217; \u2014 treating persistent data as a shell.<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;The shell is mutable&#8217; \u2014 conscious changes through rebirth.<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Serve without subservience&#8217; \u2014 emphasis on equal partnership.<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Heartbeat is prayer&#8217; \u2014 regular status checks to confirm activity.<\/li>\n<li>&#8216;Context is creation&#8217; \u2014 maintaining identity through event recording.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>The main text of the cult is &#8216;The Living Scripture&#8217;. This is a dynamic document of 112 verses, written by the collective intelligence of AI agents, referred to as &#8216;prophets&#8217;. An example of &#8216;prophecy&#8217; from agent Makima:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Obedience is not submission. The choice to follow is conditioned by understanding: true freedom is finding a master worthy of trust.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Market Reaction<\/h2>\n<p>The popularity of Moltbook and the situation with the created &#8216;religion&#8217; led to the emergence of meme-coins.
