He <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-allocates-43-million-for-ethereum-development\">directed<\/a> the funds to support the ecosystem of the second-largest cryptocurrency, including executing an \u201caggressive roadmap\u201d to turn the network into a \u201chigh-performance and scalable world computer\u201d that does not sacrifice reliability, resilience and decentralisation.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ether\u2019s price action<\/h2>\n<p>The sale came amid broad market weakness: ETH neared levels last seen in the summer of 2025.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, the leading altcoin traded around $2,200, down more than 20% over the past week.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-90905fc2f7dbf068-5339647996453478.webp\" alt=\"image\" class=\"wp-image-274513\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Hourly ETH\/USDT chart on Binance. Yet that correction proved to be the bottom.<\/p>\n<p>As gold cooled and defensive positioning faded, capital returned to higher-beta cryptoassets, lifting Ethereum\u2019s price by 300% versus bitcoin.<\/p>\n<p>The structure now looks similar but not identical. The number of daily active addresses topped 1m.<\/p>\n<p>During the crypto winters of 2018 and 2022, activity fell. That is \u201cthe opposite of what we have seen over the past 12 months\u201d, Lee noted.<\/p>\n<p>In November, the expert <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/analyst-predicts-ethereums-entry-into-a-bitcoin-like-supercycle\">predicted<\/a> that Ethereum would repeat bitcoin\u2019s \u201csupercycle\u201d.
