They are already using <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/us-war-department-deploys-googles-ai\">Gemini<\/a> from Google and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/pentagon-to-integrate-grok-chatbot-into-its-network\">Grok<\/a> from xAI.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe believe that those responsible for the country&#8217;s defense should have access to the best tools. It is also important for the U.S. and other democratic countries to understand how, with proper safeguards, AI can help protect people, deter adversaries, and prevent future conflicts,\u201d stated the OpenAI announcement.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The custom version of ChatGPT is integrated into the authorized government cloud infrastructure. The system is equipped with built-in security mechanisms for handling the department&#8217;s confidential data.<\/p>\n<p>The chatbot is designed to support everyday tasks:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>analysis and summarization of regulatory documents;<\/li>\n<li>preparation of materials for government procurement and contracts;<\/li>\n<li>creation of internal reports and checklists;<\/li>\n<li>administrative and research support for tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Risks Remain<\/h2>\n<p>OpenAI assured that data on the GenAI.mil platform is completely isolated. The information is not used for training the company\u2019s public or commercial models.<\/p>\n<p>However, Public Citizen representative J.B. Branch <a href=\"https:\/\/decrypt.co\/357684\/openai-chatgpt-pentagon-platform-experts-warn-risks\">highlighted<\/a> potential threats. In his view, uploading any sensitive information into AI systems makes it vulnerable to external attacks.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cSuch data should be accessible only to a limited group of people.
