Annually, the <span data-descr=\"Consumer Price Index \u2014 \u0438\u043d\u0434\u0435\u043a\u0441 \u043f\u043e\u0442\u0440\u0435\u0431\u0438\u0442\u0435\u043b\u044c\u0441\u043a\u0438\u0445 \u0446\u0435\u043d\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CPI<\/span> was 2.4%, down from 2.7% in December.<\/p>\n<p>The primary driver of the monthly increase was housing costs, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).<\/p>\n<p>The Core CPI, which excludes food and energy, increased by 0.3% in January and by 2.5% over the past 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>Contributing to inflation were airline tickets, hygiene products, recreation, medical care, communication, and used cars. The NASDAQ 100 <a href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/%5ENDX\/\">behaved<\/a> similarly, with a current value of $24,627.<\/p>\n<p>Swap and options markets express near-total <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cmegroup.com\/markets\/interest-rates\/cme-fedwatch-tool.html?redirect=\/trading\/interest-rates\/countdown-to-fomc.html\">confidence<\/a> that the <span data-descr=\"Federal Reserve System of the United States\" class=\"old_tooltip\">Fed<\/span> will maintain the current <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/how-the-feds-policy-rate-affects-cryptocurrency-prices\">key rate range<\/a> of 3.5-3.75% following the March 18 meeting. The probability of this scenario is estimated at 92.3%.
