It&#8217;s a new day for Zcash!<\/p>\n<p>The entire former ECC team is now Zcash Open Development Lab (ZODL), and we are rebranding the Zashi wallet to Zodl. <\/p>\n<p>You don&#8217;t need to do a thing, the app will rebrand with the next update.<\/p>\n<p>This is just a start. According to the team, the rebranding will not affect the user experience and requires no action from service clients. The app will automatically update to Zodl with the next release. In the coming days, the name Zashi will gradually be replaced by Zodl across all official channels, including support Discord,&#8221; the developers wrote.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In January, the entire ECC team <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/zcash-developers-depart-ecc-amid-internal-conflict\">left<\/a> the company amid internal conflict. Former CEO Josh Swihart stated that most board members of the nonprofit Bootstrap Foundation acted contrary to the mission of the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-are-privacy-coins\">privacy-focused cryptocurrency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The developers explained that the change was necessary for the further evolution of the protocol and the implementation of ZEC without reliance on the development fund.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;The engineers and product specialists who have been developing Zcash for years remain in place and continue to create new solutions,&#8221; emphasized ZODL.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Some users welcomed the rebranding, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PlenaFinance\/status\/2023476879274148099\">comparing<\/a> the new name to the community-popular term HODL. Others <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/BountifulB33\/status\/2023580446894731578\">criticized<\/a> it as awkward due to pronunciation difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>Following the news, the price of ZEC rose by 2.4% in the last 24 hours.
