The UAE\u2019s unrealised profit from bitcoin mining <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/uaes-unrealised-bitcoin-mining-profits-reach-350-million\">reached<\/a> $350m.<\/p>\n<p>Some companies are taking the opposite approach. Miner Bitdeer <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitdeer-sells-entire-bitcoin-reserve\">reported<\/a> selling all the bitcoin on its balance sheet. It had been selling slowly; last week it put 943.1 BTC on the market.<\/p>\n<p>Even so, Bitdeer overtook MARA Holdings by its own hashrate, becoming the leader among public miners.<\/p>\n<p>The company now ranked second by capacity this week <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitcoin-miner-mara-completes-acquisition-of-ai-infrastructure-provider-exaion\">closed<\/a> a deal to buy a 64% stake in AI\u2011infrastructure provider Exaion\u2014evidence of big miners\u2019 push to diversify.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What to discuss with friends?<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>OpenAI <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/openai-unveils-benchmark-for-ai-agents-ability-to-hack-smart-contracts\">released<\/a> a benchmark to assess AI agents\u2019 ability to hack smart contracts.<\/li>\n<li>Keyrock: Treasuries <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/keyrock-us-treasury-bonds-influence-bitcoin-more-than-the-fed\">affect<\/a> bitcoin\u2019s price more than the Fed.<\/li>\n<li>The Sharpe ratio <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/short-term-sharpe-ratio-hints-at-a-bitcoin-rebound\">hinted<\/a> at a near\u2011term bitcoin recovery.<\/li>\n<li>85% of tokens launched in 2025 <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/85-of-tokens-launched-in-2025-fell-below-initial-prices\">fell<\/a> below their initial price.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Plans to safeguard Ethereum<\/h2>\n<p>The Ethereum Foundation (EF) updated its protocol roadmap for 2026, highlighting three priorities: scaling, better UX and protecting the base layer.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-d4729d484a016760-6990942696203016.webp\" alt=\"image\" class=\"wp-image-275573\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: EF blog.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>On scaling, developers will work on boosting L1 throughput and data availability. The main goals include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>stepwise lifting of the gas limit to 100 million and beyond.<\/strong> This is to be achieved via block\u2011level access lists (<a href=\"https:\/\/eips.ethereum.org\/EIPS\/eip-7928\">EIP-7928<\/a>) and regular client performance testing;<\/li>\n<li><strong>preparing the <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/a-quiet-evolution-why-whales-are-buying-ethereum-ahead-of-glamsterdam-and-hegota\"><strong>Glamsterdam hard fork<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> The upgrade envisages a built\u2011in PBS mechanism (ePBS, <a href=\"https:\/\/eips.ethereum.org\/EIPS\/eip-7732\">EIP-7732<\/a>), a rethink of operation costs and higher limits for BLOB objects;<\/li>\n<li><strong>launching an attester client based on <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-zkevm\"><strong>zkEVM<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> The tool is to be readied for full mainnet use;<\/li>\n<li><strong>storage optimisation.<\/strong> Work includes pruning stale data and moving to binary trees (a statelessness architecture).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On UX, the focus shifts to native <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-account-abstraction\">account abstraction<\/a> and cross\u2011chain interaction (<a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-interoperability\">interoperability<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>According to developers, <a href=\"https:\/\/eips.ethereum.org\/EIPS\/eip-7702\">EIP-7702<\/a> was an important step; the end\u2011goal is to make smart\u2011contract wallets the default, without intermediaries or extra gas. Next up\u2014<a href=\"https:\/\/eips.ethereum.org\/EIPS\/eip-7701\">EIP-7701<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/eips.ethereum.org\/EIPS\/eip-8141\">EIP-8141<\/a>\u2014which embed smart\u2011account logic directly into the protocol.<\/p>\n<p>The base layer becomes a new workstream aimed at preserving Ethereum\u2019s fundamentals as it scales, with work spanning security, censorship resistance and stability.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Ethereum\u2019s share in staking <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-staking-share-reaches-record-50\">reached<\/a> a record 50%. The calculation of 50.18% (80.95m ETH) is based on the asset\u2019s historical issuance before the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-coin-burning-and-how-does-it-affect-prices\">burning<\/a> mechanism was introduced. Any use of LLMs\u2014whether in the private sector or in government\u2014must comply with our policy governing how the model is deployed. We work closely with partners to ensure the rules are followed,\u201d a company representative said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Such use would run counter to Anthropic\u2019s public policy, which explicitly bans employing AI for violence, weapons development or surveillance.<\/p>\n<p>Claude\u2019s adoption by the Pentagon became possible via Anthropic\u2019s partnership with Palantir Technologies, whose software is widely used by the military and federal law\u2011enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>Reporters wrote that after the raid an Anthropic employee asked a Palantir colleague what role the model had played in the operation to seize Maduro. The startup denied the claim, and WSJ provided no further details.<\/p>\n<p>After the story spread, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said ties with the AI lab were under review. Relations with Anthropic were already strained.<\/p>\n<p>Axios, citing sources, noted that the US military is pressuring four major AI firms (Anthropic, Google, OpenAI and xAI) to let the army use their technology for \u201call lawful purposes\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, there were reports that the recently paired companies <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/spacex-merges-with-xai-to-form-1-25-trillion-company\">SpaceX and xAI<\/a> of Elon Musk plan to develop software for the Pentagon\u2019s autonomous weapons.<\/p>\n<p>The firms are competing in a six\u2011month, $100m tender to build advanced \u201cswarm technology capable of translating voice commands into digital instructions and controlling multiple drones\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>They are not the only participants.
