He called this level a critical boundary for the asset.<\/p>\n<p>Patel calculated his downside targets using Fibonacci:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the 0.5 level sits near $44,000;<\/li>\n<li>0.618 aligns with $35,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In his view, large capital accumulates at these levels. A deep correction is necessary for bitcoin to resume healthy growth and reach new all-time highs.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He cited previous market cycles: before each major rally the first cryptocurrency suffered a steep drawdown. In 2018 bitcoin fell 84%, and in 2022 it dropped 77%. Patel is sure the price will slip below $50,000 before the next leg higher.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A climb to $80,000<\/h2>\n<p>On February 25 bitcoin\u2019s price <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/short-bets-against-bitcoin-giant-strategy-reach-6-billion\">reached $70,000<\/a>. The main driver was heavy inflows into spot <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">ETF<\/a>.<br \/>At the time of writing, bitcoin trades around $68,203. By his calculations, the average purchase price (realised price) for traders holding coins for one to three months formed at $90,000. Since bitcoin is now trading around $68,000, the unrealised loss for this cohort reaches 24%.<\/p>\n<p>For short-term investors, Darkfost highlighted key deviation bands from the realised price. The maximum band is at $153,000, the upper at $126,000, the lower at $79,000 and the minimum at $56,000. These are important areas of interest for short-term players, who tend to react most emotionally to sharp moves.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that in the current cycle bitcoin has often corrected right after hitting the maximum band.
