Analysts at <a href=\"https:\/\/k33.com\/research\/articles\/hours-away-from-the-verdict\">K33 Research<\/a> have reached this conclusion.<\/p>\n<p>They believe the cascade of forced long closures has &#8220;sharply improved market conditions.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to their observations, from January 2 to 6, open interest (OI) in perpetual contracts decreased by 12%, and funding rates shifted to a neutral state.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>These parameters remained stable thereafter, indicating much less market excitement compared to the previous week, the analysts added.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/1-869.webp\" alt=\"1-869\" class=\"wp-image-223550\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Data: K33 Research.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;After the reduction in leverage, the market has become more resilient to profit-taking from the ETF announcement,&#8221;<\/em> the specialists explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>K33 Research noted a rise in OI on the <span data-descr=\"\u0427\u0438\u043a\u0430\u0433\u0441\u043a\u0430\u044f \u0442\u043e\u0432\u0430\u0440\u043d\u0430\u044f \u0431\u0438\u0440\u0436\u0430\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CME<\/span> to a record 131,620 BTC.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;Premiums remain high (~20%), but in a much healthier upward trend than what we observed at the start of the year. Like OI, this indicator is likely to decrease significantly after the ETF approval. The transition from<\/em> <em>futures to spot ETFs will lead to long closures on the CME,&#8221;<\/em> the analysts predicted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Experts agreed with the consensus forecast of a positive SEC verdict on the product on January 10. They warned of subsequent volatility following the event.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;We expect an increase in volumes [\u2026], as well as a rapid adjustment of traders&#8217; risk profiles,&#8221;<\/em> the specialists indicated.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Experts also touched on the &#8220;fee war&#8221; among firms applying to launch the instrument.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/271297\/spot-bitcoin-etf-sponsor-fees-bitwise\">The Block<\/a>, Bitwise leads this list, offering zero fees for the first six months or until the first $1 billion in assets is reached, after which the parameter increases to 0.2%.<\/p>\n<p>ARK Invest and 21Shares offer a slightly lower fee of 0.25% (previously 0.8%). VanEck and Fidelity also offer a 0.25% fee. BlackRock is ready to charge 0.2% for the first 12 months or until <span data-descr=\"\u043e\u0431\u044a\u0435\u043c \u0430\u043a\u0442\u0438\u0432\u043e\u0432 \u043f\u043e\u0434 \u0443\u043f\u0440\u0430\u0432\u043b\u0435\u043d\u0438\u0435\u043c\" class=\"old_tooltip\">AUM<\/span> reaches $5 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Other applicants offer fees ranging from 0.29% to 0.8%. Grayscale, which hopes to convert its Bitcoin trust into an exchange-traded fund, charges 1.5%.<\/p>\n<p>K33 explained that low fees may be based on the desire to quickly attract a large share of the potential multi-billion dollar inflow.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;There are two positive effects [\u2026]. First, it is more attractive to invest with low management fees.
