Its usage costs are two to three times lower than those of the Veo 3.1 Fast version.<\/p>\n<p>The model supports the creation of videos based on text and images in both horizontal and vertical formats. Users can choose between 720p or 1080p resolution and video durations of four, six, or eight seconds.<\/p>\n<p>For comparison, generating a second of content with sound in the basic Veo 3.1 cost about $0.4. Although official reasons were not provided, experts attribute the decision to high service maintenance costs.<\/p>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/telegram.org\/js\/telegram-widget.js?23\" data-telegram-post=\"forklogAI\/6932\" data-width=\"100%\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Logan Kilpatrick, Head of Product at Google AI Studio, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/OfficialLoganK\/status\/2039015034286694618\">stated<\/a> during the Veo 3.1 Lite presentation:<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Video is here to stay.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sora&#8217;s Closure Spurs Competition<\/h2>\n<p>A week after Sora&#8217;s closure, alternative AI generators like Kling AI and Runway have shown a confident increase in their user base.<\/p>\n<p>The number of weekly active users of Kling AI from China&#8217;s Kuaishou Technology <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2026-04-01\/kling-ai-runway-vidu-the-ai-video-generators-set-to-replace-openai-s-sora?srnd=phx-ai\">increased<\/a> by 4%, reaching 2.6 million. Before OpenAI&#8217;s announcement, the project already led in monthly audience: in March, it had 7.8 million compared to Sora&#8217;s 4.7 million.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-fd72c00f72605182-725434200445358.webp\" alt=\"image\" class=\"wp-image-277877\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Source: Bloomberg.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Competing platforms Runway and Vidu also recorded a 1% increase in weekly users.<\/p>\n<p>Sora was <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/openai-unveils-a-rival-to-tiktok\">launched<\/a> as a standalone application in autumn 2025. Initially, it generated significant buzz due to its user-friendly interface and social features. However, its popularity proved short-lived: since the beginning of the year, the number of monthly active users has steadily <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/sora-downloads-plummet-by-32-after-record-launch\">declined<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The exit of a major player opens new financial opportunities for Kling AI.
