This marked the largest monthly jump since 2005. <\/p>\n<p>The Core Consumer Price Index, which excludes food and fuel prices, increased by 0.2% for the month, against a forecast of 0.3% and <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/us-inflation-matches-forecasts-as-bitcoin-nears-71000\">February&#8217;s 0.2%<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>On an annual basis, core inflation stood at 2.6%. <\/p>\n<p>Geopolitical tensions have led investors to drastically revise their forecasts for the <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/how-the-feds-policy-rate-affects-cryptocurrency-prices\">Federal Reserve rate<\/a>. Initially, the market expected one or more cuts, then hikes.
