And I&#8217;m a fking founder of a wallet startup that&#8217;s trying to improve wallet security\u2026<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t believe this is happening, I&#8217;ve always been so careful. I saw article guide to\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/x56HR2z8xK\">pic.twitter.com\/x56HR2z8xK<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Bill Lou (@BillLou95) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BillLou95\/status\/1742098683133612370?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">January 2, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The developer became interested in the <span data-descr=\"stands for 'less fees and gas'\" class=\"old_tooltip\">LFG<\/span> token distribution, which <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LessFnGas\/status\/1741860806218670442?s=20\">was announced on January 1<\/a>. The project rewards Ethereum users who have <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LessFnGas\/status\/1741909471897526754?s=20\">spent<\/a> more than $4269 on transaction fees since 2016, encouraging them to switch to the Solana blockchain.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lou clicked on a link from the top of Google&#8217;s search results, which led to a fraudulent website.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>\u201cI saw an article guide on the distribution and clicked the link to sign a message [in the wallet],\u201d explained the startup head.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>He noted that he used MetaMask instead of the beta version of Nest, which still had some bugs to fix.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>\u201cTransaction simulation is just necessary,\u201d he emphasized in a conversation with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/269913\/crypto-wallet-founder-loses-125000-fake-lfg-phishing-attack\" title=\"The Block\">The Block<\/a>. \u201cIt&#8217;s built into Nest Wallet, but completely absent in MetaMask. This could have been completely avoided.\u201d<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Lou is not the only experienced market participant to fall victim to a scam airdrop.
