Even with sufficient capital, Coinbase aims to enhance operational efficiency ahead of the next industry growth phase.<\/p>\n<p>The second reason for the layoffs is the development of AI: technologies enable small teams to handle tasks that previously took weeks.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the restructuring, the exchange will change its operational model:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>limit the number of management layers to five;<\/li>\n<li>require managers to participate in work processes alongside executors;<\/li>\n<li>create AI divisions where one person can combine the roles of engineer and designer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Dismissed employees in the US will receive a minimum of 16 weeks&#8217; salary and six months of health insurance. Access to work systems was immediately revoked after the announcement to &#8220;protect customer data.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Armstrong emphasized that the company&#8217;s mission remains unchanged, and the changes will help Coinbase make decisions more quickly.<\/p>\n<p>Back in April, it was reported that Snap <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/snap-to-replace-1000-employees-with-ai-to-save-500-million\">will replace<\/a> 1,000 employees with neural networks to save $500 million.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Coinbase will reduce its workforce by approximately 14%.
