This conclusion was reached by analysts at JPMorgan, reports <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/401349\/jpmorgan-bitcoin-ether-altcoins-crypto\">The Block<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the bank, digital gold is recovering more swiftly\u2014both in the spot <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">ETF<\/a> segment and in the futures market. Institutional investors are more actively <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/bitcoin-drops-below-80000-as-us-inflation-quickens\">returning<\/a> to the leading cryptocurrency: inflows into Bitcoin funds have compensated for two-thirds of the recent outflows, whereas Ethereum ETFs have only managed a third. <\/p>\n<p>Open positions on the <span data-descr=\"Chicago Mercantile Exchange\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CME<\/span> for Bitcoin have returned to peak levels, while interest in Ether remains low.<\/p>\n<p>Experts doubt that the hard forks <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/a-quiet-evolution-why-whales-are-buying-ethereum-ahead-of-glamsterdam-and-hegota\">Glamsterdam and Hegota<\/a> planned for this year will rectify the situation. Previous network updates over the past three years have not resulted in a noticeable increase in activity\u2014on the contrary, they have reduced transaction costs in <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-layer%e2%80%912-solution-in-blockchain\">L2<\/a> solutions, which decreased the volume of burned fees and increased the supply of coins. This has exerted additional pressure on Ether&#8217;s price.<\/p>\n<p>Analysts attribute the weakness in the altcoin market since 2023 to three factors:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>low liquidity and insufficient market depth;<\/li>\n<li>stagnation in the decentralized finance sector;<\/li>\n<li>regular hacks and security issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These factors have undermined investor confidence and are restraining the influx of new capital into the alternative cryptocurrency ecosystem.
