The structure is to receive initial funding of $1 billion.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The way to save Ethereum: The community needs to create an organization that&#8217;s economically aligned with Ethereum and accountable to it.<\/p>\n<p>The EF now holds less than 0.1% of all ETH. There is no flow of Ethereum staking or fee revenues to it. <\/p>\n<p>If we want to get Ethereum back to\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Dankrad Feist (@dankrad) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dankrad\/status\/2057441946616930799?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 21, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the organization is intended to &#8220;save Ethereum.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Feist stated that the EF currently controls less than 0.1% of the ETH supply and does not receive a steady cash flow from staking or network fees. His vision for the new structure is that it should be economically tied to Ethereum and accountable to the community.<\/p>\n<p>He also suggested forming a council of people who &#8220;want ETH to grow&#8221; and appointing a &#8220;competent leader who wants to fight.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Signs of Crisis in EF Intensify<\/h2>\n<p>The initiative comes amid criticism of the EF and a series of departures from the organization. In February, Tomasz Stanczak <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/leadership-changes-at-the-ethereum-foundation\">left<\/a> his position as co-executive director, which he held for less than a year. In April, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/0xstark\/status\/2044757694389670239\">Josh Stark ended<\/a> his five-year career in the foundation&#8217;s leadership team.<\/p>\n<p>In May, leading developers Barnab\u00e9 Monnot and Tim Beiko <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/leadership-change-at-ethereum-foundations-technical-division\">resigned<\/a> from the organization&#8217;s technical division, and Alex Stokes took a &#8220;creative break.&#8221; Subsequently, two researchers <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/two-more-developers-depart-from-ethereum-foundation\">left<\/a> the organization \u2014 Karl Bick and Julian Ma.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the community believes that the EF is too focused on ideological issues and complex technical improvements instead of ecosystem development and promoting ETH. In its <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-foundation-upholds-minimal-intervention-in-network-development\">updated mandate<\/a>, the organization enshrined the principle of minimal intervention in network development. Some tenets of the document explicitly indicated the EF&#8217;s reluctance to focus on increasing the cryptocurrency&#8217;s value.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;Our main goal is not profit, organizational growth, or blind implementation at any cost,&#8221; one section states.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the autumn of 2025, Feist <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/dankrad\/status\/2057441946616930799\">left<\/a> the EF and joined the development of the private blockchain <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/stripe-and-tempo-launch-mainnet-for-ai-agent-payments\">Tempo by Stripe and Paradigm<\/a>. This move puzzled some commentators, as the corporate network is an ideological antithesis to Ethereum.<\/p>\n<p>In March, the EF presented its <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-foundation-redefines-the-role-of-l2-networks\">new vision<\/a> for the roles of the base layer and rollups, as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/news\/ethereum-foundation-to-implement-quantum-security-by-2029\">roadmap<\/a> for protecting the network from quantum threats by 2029.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Former Ethereum Foundation (EF) researcher Dankrad Feist has proposed the creation of a new organization to support the Ethereum ecosystem.
