X Introduces Cashtags for Cryptocurrency Tracking
X launches Cashtags for tracking stocks and cryptocurrencies in user feeds.
The social network X has launched the Cashtags feature, enabling users to view stock and cryptocurrency data directly in their feed.
𝕏 has always been the best source of financial news for traders and investors. Billions of dollars are allocated every day based on what people read on Timeline.

According to Nikita Bier, head of product, the option is already available to iPhone users in the US and Canada.
When searching for an asset ticker or smart contract address, the algorithm suggests the corresponding tag. Clicking it opens thematic posts and a real-time price chart.
For Canadian users, a button has been added to transition to the Wealthsimple brokerage platform, allowing quick access to asset trading.
Earlier, Bier clarified that X does not plan to act as a broker or directly process transactions—the integration aims to develop informational financial tools. The timeline for Cashtags’ launch in other countries remains unknown.
This innovation fits seamlessly into Elon Musk’s strategy of transforming X into a “super app.” It is expected that by April, the company will open early access to X Money—a digital wallet for P2P transfers and payments.

The social network is actively expanding its team to work on new products. Recently, X hired Benji Taylor, a former employee of Aave and Base, as head of design.
Back in June 2025, Musk announced the launch of the XChat messenger “with encryption, disappearing messages, and the ability to send any files.” Users criticized the novelty.
