According to the team, the new Android device functions as a full-fledged blockchain node. Users can participate in the DePIN network directly from the smartphone, earning rewards and airdrops.
“XForge represents the next evolution of devices, combining the power of blockchain with the convenience of a smartphone,” the developers noted.
The smartphone will be priced at $299. For this amount, it offers:
- 256 GB of storage;
- 12 GB of RAM;
- Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
XProtocol is a Layer 3 (L3) solution built on a Layer 2 (L2) solution for Ethereum Base. Currently, a test network is running, with the mainnet expected in the fourth quarter.
XForge will initially operate on the L3 blockchain but will later transition to the first layer to “achieve greater autonomy and scalability.”
In September, Solana introduced the crypto smartphone Seeker, with pre-orders exceeding 140,000.
