Yakutsk resident loses over 200,000 rubles trying to invest in cryptocurrencies

A Yakutsk resident contacted the authorities after becoming a victim of scammers who promised profits from buying shares in major companies and from cryptocurrencies.

According to the МВД, the woman took an investment test on Instagram, after which she topped up her Qiwi wallet by 12,000 rubles and exchanged crowns for dollars.

Then a certain consultant contacted her, under whose guidance the victim allegedly invested in shares of Gazprom, Rosneft, as well as in cryptocurrencies.

In total, the woman handed over 234,000 rubles, but did not receive any profit.

Earlier, a resident of Samara transferred 1.3 million rubles to Bitcoin scammers.
