Reflecting on Achievements
Initially, the social network highlighted the emergence of free speech as a “core value” for the company, alongside the development of a new content moderation strategy.
Over the past year, X has made significant changes to the user interface, including a range of new products and features for searching, customizing, and creating posts.
Platform representatives noted increased engagement with audiovisual content, with users watching videos in 8 out of 10 sessions. This was facilitated by the launch of the Immersive Video platform and support for longer clips.
X introduced the job search service X Hiring, which listed over 750,000 vacancies within six months. Additionally, audio and video call functions were integrated into the app.
One of the company’s major achievements in 2023 was the launch of the Grok chatbot, developed by Elon Musk’s xAI company.
“[The AI tool] benefits from access to our unique and powerful data source — the global public conversation on X. Plus, Grok has a sense of humor,” the blog states.
X enhanced its interaction system with creators, making payments to over 80,000 users through the ad revenue sharing program last year.
According to the company, marketing content has become more “relevant and effective.” As a result of these changes, total ad interactions increased by 22%.
“We have witnessed various cultural events and movements that demonstrated the irreplaceable nature of X and the unwavering loyalty of our vibrant communities, including ‘Barbenheimer,’ the OpenAI saga, Nicki Minaj’s ‘Gag City,’ and Shohei Ohtani’s ‘not here’ meme. By combining a public platform with the most engaged and influential users, we create a powerful force for change,” stated X.
Future Plans
In 2024, the company plans to “enhance user capabilities and advertising experiences” through artificial intelligence.
The platform will improve the “View Similar Posts” feature, developed by xAI, which enhances the quality and balance of information users receive.
X also intends to launch peer-to-peer payments. The company believes this feature will bring more benefits to regular users and new opportunities for commerce.
Earlier, Musk mentioned that the firm expects to obtain licenses for providing financial services in fiat and cryptocurrency markets. The launch of the payment service is planned for mid-2024.
“X aims to revolutionize by introducing innovative products and services that will change how we interact, communicate, and transact,” the company concluded.
Back in the summer of 2023, the social network underwent rebranding, replacing its iconic blue bird logo and name.
Prior to this, Musk imposed “temporary” limits on tweet views. According to the businessman, the decision was due to “extreme levels” of data scraping and system manipulation. He did not specify when the restrictions would be lifted.
