YouTube deleted and restored Anthony Pompliano’s channel
The co-founder of Morgan Creek Digital, Anthony Pompliano, said that on the evening of October 11 YouTube deleted his channel during a livestream with the popular blogger PlanB.
We just had @100trillionUSD on YouTube to discuss bitcoin and our channel was deleted.

According to statements by the channel owner, this happened after discussing a bullish Bitcoin scenario for the next five years.
Later Pompliano posted screenshots of letters from the service — in them the content about Bitcoin was described as harmful and dangerous. A representative of the video platform deemed that the channel creators allegedly promoted illegal activity.
I have received two emails from @YouTube.
The first stated that the content, an interview on bitcoin, was harmful and dangerous (lol).
They then stated that we would receive a strike, but then I received a second email saying the channel was being deleted seconds later. 🤷🏽♂️ pic.twitter.com/iFuYY10p7W

«Then they said we would receive a warning, but I received a second email saying that the channel was being deleted within seconds», — wrote the co-founder of Morgan Creek Digital.
About two hours later Pompliano said the YouTube channel had been restored “with no explanation from the company.”
Our YouTube channel was just reinstated with zero explanation from the company.
Here is the interview with @100trillionUSD about bitcoin that Youtube doesn’t want you to see.

In April 2020, a similar incident occurred with the channel of well-known cryptocurrency trader Tone Vays. In an interview with ForkLog he noted that YouTube does not specify the exact reason for the ban and provides a vague formulation about violation of the terms of use. Access was restored after a wave of outcry from the community.
In September the video hosting administrator interrupted the stream of the cryptocurrency blogger Sunnу Decree, dedicated to Bitcoin’s price, due to the presence of “harmful and dangerous” content.
Meanwhile, fraudulent videos promoting free cryptocurrency giveaways not only went without moderation, but also ended up among the service’s recommended videos.
In March 2020, criminals hacked dozens of accounts on YouTube, renamed them to allegedly various Microsoft brands, and, on behalf of Microsoft head Bill Gates, promoted a pyramid scheme.
Earlier, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak joined a class-action lawsuit against YouTube and its parent company Google. The videos promoted free cryptocurrency giveaways using his name.
In 2021 it emerged that Wozniak lost the case.
In March, Ripple and its chief Brad Garlinghouse reached a settlement with YouTube over a lawsuit filed against the video platform in 2020. The plaintiffs accused the service of failing to take action against scammers promoting fake XRP token giveaways in their name.
