YouTube Unveils Updated AI Tools

YouTube introduces new AI tools for podcasts, videos, and Shorts.

At the Made on YouTube event, the video hosting platform introduced a series of new AI solutions to assist in the creation of podcasts, videos, and Shorts.

Podcasts

One focus area is new tools for podcasters. These include methods for turning video podcasts into clips and Shorts, as well as a feature to aid in creating videos from audio formats.

Artificial intelligence will simplify the creation of clips for video podcasters through special prompts. This feature will be available “in the coming months,” with the ability to convert such clips into Shorts at the beginning of next year.

Another tool is the conversion of audio podcasts into video content. The service is expected to launch in early 2026, but only for “selected podcasters.” A broader integration will occur by the end of next year.

YouTube Studio

YouTube announced a set of new features for YouTube Studio, the platform for managing channels, analytics, and revenue. These include:

  • an AI-powered chatbot;
  • an “inspiration” tab;
  • a headline testing feature;
  • automatic dubbing;
  • tools for recognizing similar content.

The most notable of these is the last feature. Content creators will be able to detect, manage, and seek the removal of unauthorized videos using their likeness. This will help protect bloggers’ image and reputation.

Ask Studio is an AI-powered chatbot that assists users and answers questions about their accounts. For instance, it can be asked about audience opinions regarding editing style.

The Inspiration tool has been updated. It allows creators to use AI to generate ideas and develop video concepts. The tab offers a list of recommended topics tailored to a specific channel and nine response options for each AI query.

Topics can be combined or added during the “brainstorming” process. The feature explains why it makes certain recommendations based on audience behavior.

YouTube Studio will introduce the ability to test and compare up to three different titles and thumbnails for videos.

The company will also launch lip-sync technology to make the automatic dubbing feature more realistic.

YouTube Shorts

AI solutions have also been introduced for Shorts users. The platform will integrate a special version of the Veo 3 video generator, add a new remix tool, an Edit with AI feature, and other capabilities.

Veo 3 Fast generates content with less delay at 480p resolution, simplifying video creation. The update will begin rolling out in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, with support for other regions to follow.

Thanks to the video generator, users will be able to animate static photos and apply various styles to their videos. Additionally, there is now the ability to add objects using prompts. Changes will begin to be implemented in the coming months.

Bloggers will be able to turn dialogues from videos into memorable soundtracks for other Shorts.

The Speech to Song feature uses the Lyria 2 music AI model to create soundtracks. Authors can add their own mood to the song, such as dance, cheerful, or relaxing.

Edit with AI allows raw footage to be turned into initial drafts. The tool analyzes recorded content, identifies and arranges the best moments, adds music and transitions, and can even overlay a voiceover. The goal is to provide authors with a starting point for creating Shorts.

Back in July, YouTube introduced an AI feature for Shorts that allows images to be converted into six-second clips.
