ZachXBT Exposes Hundreds of Influencers for Undisclosed Token Promotions

On-chain sleuth ZachXBT has unveiled evidence of undisclosed promotions by crypto influencers. He released a publicly accessible spreadsheet containing data on over 200 opinion leaders who were contacted for token promotion.

According to him, of the approximately 160 influencers who accepted the deal, fewer than five labeled their posts as advertisements.

The publication lists prices per post, ranging from hundreds to tens of thousands of dollars. It also includes Solana wallet addresses for payment and links to on-chain transactions.

Undisclosed advertising remains a persistent issue in the crypto industry. In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission requires influencers to clearly disclose their connections to promoted projects. The absence of such information misleads investors and may lead to regulatory scrutiny.

Back in August, ZachXBT reported that a user lost 783 BTC (~$91 million) due to a social engineering attack.

Later, the researcher compared the operational models of Ripple, Cardano, and Hedera to a financial pyramid scheme.
