Jack Dorsey: Bitcoin Could Foster Global Peace and Energy Surplus

Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter and head of Block, highlighted the significant impact of the first cryptocurrency on humanity in an interview with Bitcoin Magazine. He believes the asset could contribute to “world peace.”

Dorsey believes that digital gold will also lead to an energy surplus worldwide. He agreed with the view that in recent years, Bitcoin has evolved from a “toy” to a serious project.

According to the CEO of Block, the first cryptocurrency has become more resilient, and the community has learned to purposefully identify and eliminate new threats.

Discussing the risks of centralization in the mining sector, Dorsey pointed to the solution in the form of his decentralized Bitcoin pool, Ocean.

In June 2023, the CEO of Block allocated $5 million to the Brink fund to support Bitcoin Core developers. The organization will receive $1 million annually as part of the Start Small initiative.

In the same month, Dorsey supported Robert Francis Kennedy Jr., a U.S. presidential candidate friendly to digital assets. Kennedy criticized CBDCs, defended Bitcoin, and opened donations in the first cryptocurrency.
