Lidings Law Firm Begins Accepting Claims from WEX Clients

The law firm Lidings has announced the commencement of accepting claims from both Russian and international clients of the WEX exchange for asset recovery.

According to the announcement, Lidings is the sole representative of the platform on this matter. Claims in Russian or English are accepted via email or through WhatsApp and Telegram, using the contact details provided in the press release.

“The law firm Lidings, its employees, partners, and affiliates do not make any payments to clients of the WEX cryptocurrency exchange in any form, and any promises of such payments made on behalf of or by order of the law firm Lidings are not valid or legal. The corresponding payments will be made by World Exchange Services Pte. Ltd. following the review of documents submitted by WEX exchange clients,” the statement reads.

Representatives of the firm added that they do not provide legal consultations for the platform’s clients.

Previously, World Exchange Services secured a court order for the recovery of 3.1 billion rubles in WEX assets, accusing the exchange’s system administrator, Alexey Bilyuchenko (Ivanov), of embezzlement. In September 2023, the “red admin” was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison and fined 500,000 rubles in this case.

Bilyuchenko himself called the sentence “too harsh.” He also stated that all the funds received are authorized by the owner of World Exchange Services, Igor Pravdin, to be “personally distributed among users” of the exchange as compensation for damages.

In April, the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow granted a lawsuit for the recovery of 18 billion rubles from the “red admin.”

Earlier, two former employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, who were investigating the WEX case, were arrested in absentia and placed on an international wanted list for allegedly receiving a bribe of 4.9 billion rubles in cryptocurrencies from Bilyuchenko.
