Uniswap Labs and Across Protocol Propose Ethereum Standard for Interoperability
Teams from Uniswap Labs and Across Protocol have proposed a new industry standard, ERC-7683, to facilitate cross-network interaction based on the concept of “intents.”

This increasingly popular approach among blockchain projects suggests a paradigm shift in how users interact with decentralized applications. Instead of specifying particular actions, users simply indicate their goals and desired outcomes.
“Interoperability based on ‘intents’ is winning. However, today, when a protocol implements operations based on them, it needs to create, attract, and maintain its own ecosystem of relayers or fillers,” the developers noted.
The proposed ERC-7683 aims to eliminate such fragmentation of intermediary solutions within the ecosystem. The standard provides a unified structure for all intents orders and the use of a common universal filler network to execute transactions.

According to the statement, this will reduce costs for projects and users, lower the entry barrier for using the technology, and simplify interaction with protocols.
On May 21, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin advocated for the creation of a unified decentralized layer for moving assets between L2 networks.
MetaMask, the leading wallet in the ecosystem, is testing a technology for “transaction routing” based on “intents.”
