Meta Seeks Leader to Integrate AI into VR and AR Gaming
Meta is set to enhance its gaming offerings with more generative artificial intelligence technologies, targeting virtual, augmented, and mixed reality experiences. The company is seeking a leader for its metaverse division, as detailed in a job posting on LinkedIn.
Meta is in search of candidates to develop “new consumer experiences” and gameplay types utilizing AI. For instance, games could “change every time you play them” and “follow non-deterministic paths.”
Simultaneously, the company is prepared to create AI-based tools or collaborate with third-party developers and providers of such solutions to “enhance workflow and reduce time-to-market for games.”
Meta’s initiative is focused on the mixed reality platform Horizon, but it could extend to games and platforms on smartphones and PCs not affiliated with Zuckerberg’s company.
“This area is just emerging and has the potential to create new experiences that may not exist today. Innovations in this field could significantly impact the ecosystem by increasing efficiency and enabling the creation of much more content,” the job posting states.
In June, Meta announced the integration of AI characters into Instagram.
Earlier, the company planned to increase its annual spending on AI initiatives.
Back in April, the corporation integrated an AI assistant into WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger.
