Vietnam Unveils National Blockchain Strategy

The Vietnamese government has adopted a National Strategy for the application and development of blockchain technology for the years 2025-2030, as reported by Vietnam.vn.

Authorities noted that DLT is one of the leading technological trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It significantly contributes to the creation of digital infrastructure and data security.

Under the approved policy, the country aims to become a leader in Southeast Asia in the research, application, and exploitation of blockchain technology. Specifically, the goals set in this area include:

• creating 20 prestigious industry brands in terms of products and platforms;
• supporting the operation of at least three national experimental centers or special zones with the prospect of building a national network;
• achieving representation in the regional top-10 rankings of the best educational and research institutions in blockchain.

To achieve these objectives, the government proposed steps in five areas:

• improving the legal environment;
• developing infrastructure and forming an industrial blockchain ecosystem;
• developing human resources in the field;
• promoting the development and application of technology;
• participating in international research and innovation.

Each point is assigned to a specific government agency, the publication emphasized.

Earlier, Vietnam ranked fifth in the global cryptocurrency adoption index by Chainalysis. Ukraine and Russia also made it to the top 10.
