BestChange Faces Another Block in Russia

On the evening of April 18, Roskomnadzor once again blocked the domains of the cryptocurrency exchange aggregator BestChange within Russia. The service team announced this on their Telegram channel.

The block affected BestChange.ru, BestChange.com, and BestChange.net. Monitoring continues to operate.

Project representatives did not find their sites’ URLs and corresponding IPs in the official Roskomnadzor registry, which means some providers still have access to certain domains from Russia.

The agency sent a notification about the block, but the developers did not receive any prior warning. BestChange suspects the initiator was the Bank of Russia.

“It seems this is another mistake by ordinary regulator employees who prepare lists of internet resources providing banking services without a license for further extrajudicial blocking,” said service representatives.

The project’s lawyers are already working on resolving the issue.

“It will likely take two to three weeks to unblock, once the lawyers manage to contact the regulator’s representatives and they again acknowledge the block as erroneous,” noted BestChange.

In the past, the service has been repeatedly blocked by Roskomnadzor. In February, access to the aggregator’s site was closed following a similar complaint from the central bank, and the restrictions were lifted after 10 days.

Earlier, BestChange claimed a possible “targeted campaign to discredit” the service, including attacks on the project’s sites and the spread of false information.
