NFT Project Plans to Acquire Nuclear Bunker for DAO

The team behind Dead Bruv, developers of the NFT project Meatbags, has initiated a crowdfunding campaign to purchase a plot of land in England featuring a decommissioned Cold War-era bunker.

They plan to sell 100,000 NFTs to raise the necessary funds.

Token holders will gain access to a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) called the Billionaire Bunker Club. DAO members will be able to vote on the future use of the bunker.

Proposals include creating a themed resort, a festival venue, or an “Airbnb with caviar tastings and canned bean room service.”

The auction is set for April 24. The starting price for the bunker, listed by SDL Property Auctions, is £650,000 (~$862,257). It is located in Rutland, England, on a 1.4-acre plot. The bunker offers the potential for conversion into a residential property.

The bunker was constructed in 1960 for monitoring nuclear explosions and radiation levels. It was decommissioned in 1968. The UK has over 1,500 such structures intended for observing the aftermath of a nuclear attack.

According to Robert, one of the anonymous co-founders of Dead Bruv, the project idea began as a joke but quickly evolved into a “brilliant” concept.

He noted that the main goal is to rekindle interest in NFTs by combining creativity, technology, and bold plans.

Back in 2021, the ConstitutionDAO project attempted to purchase an original copy of the US Constitution, raising $47 million but ultimately losing the auction.
