ViaBTC Celebrates Ninth Anniversary with $69,999 Prize Contest
The mining pool ViaBTC has launched a contest titled “Assemble the Puzzle” to mark its ninth anniversary, featuring a total prize pool of $69,999. The event will run until June 18, 2025, according to a press release.
Assemble the Puzzle
Participants are tasked with assembling nine pieces of a digital puzzle. To achieve this, they must complete a quiz and a hashrate challenge, as well as participate in voting and an ambassador program.
Users who collect the complete set of nine parts will share the $69,999 prize pool. The tasks are available on the ViaBTC website and in the mobile app for Android and iOS.
ViaBTC’s Ninth Anniversary
Over nine years, ViaBTC has become a major player in the mining market. As of May 2025, the company serves over 1.7 million users and controls about 12% of Bitcoin’s hashrate, ranking among the top three pools.
ViaBTC’s founder, Haipo Yang, personally wrote the code for the mining pool. The development was completed in May 2016, and by June 5, ViaBTC mined its first block. This date is celebrated as the pool’s birthday.
“The ninth anniversary is not just a date but a symbol of our commitment to innovation and the result of joint efforts with miners who have supported us all these years. On behalf of the entire ViaBTC team, I sincerely thank each user for their trust and support.
We will continue to do our utmost to ensure the security, stability, and efficiency of mining, remaining one of the most reliable mining pools in the world,” commented Haipo Yang.
In the merged mining segment of Litecoin (LTC) and Dogecoin (DOGE), ViaBTC holds the top position globally with a 32% share of the total hashrate. Besides these, users also mine Bellscoin (BEL), Luckycoin (LKY), Junkcoin (JKC), and Pepecoin (PEP). The platform also supports mining Kaspa (KAS) and other cryptocurrencies.
The ViaBTC ecosystem includes the cryptocurrency exchange CoinEx, founded in 2017. Pool clients can automatically transfer mined assets to the trading platform without fees.
