TON Foundation Clarifies UAE ‘Golden Visa’ Initiative
The UAE’s ‘golden visa’ programme for staking Toncoin is a private initiative. The TON Foundation clarified that the project is not affiliated with the country’s government.
The statement was a response to an announcement on the social network X. The foundation acknowledged that the news sparked interest within the community and decided to provide clarity.
The initiative is a joint project between TON and a licensed partner in blockchain infrastructure and tokenized assets.
TON representatives emphasized that they have no official agreements with UAE authorities. The project is in its early stages.
The TON Foundation supported a joint statement from UAE government bodies. The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, the Securities and Commodities Authority, and the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority previously denied the launch of such programmes.
The foundation noted that applying does not guarantee a visa. The decision remains with UAE government agencies. If the project receives official support in the future, it will be announced separately.
Back in May, Telegram CEO Pavel Durov announced a partnership with Elon Musk’s AI startup xAI. However, the billionaire stated that no agreement had been reached.
