CoinMarketCap launches educational resource CMC Alexandria
The cryptocurrency market data aggregator CoinMarketCap launched the educational platform CMC Alexandria, which will help newcomers understand the industry.
“Crypto is no longer a niche interest, as it used to be, but not fully mainstream either — it is somewhere in the middle,” a CoinMarketCap spokesperson said.
The CMC crypto library includes a glossary, articles on crypto basics, technical details and a section devoted to decentralized finance (DeFi).
Commenting on why DeFi occupies such a prominent place in the library, a spokesperson explained that CoinMarketCap aims to reflect the most current developments at the moment.
The site uses existing traffic to promote the “cryptocurrency revolution, educating visitors to CMC about new technologies.” The spokesperson also added:
“We aim to provide information that helps newcomers in the crypto space become more familiar with the key concepts that many crypto enthusiasts already take for granted. Starting with such basics as how bitcoin transactions work, to more important considerations, for example, how to keep cryptocurrency safe.”
The platform’s name is a nod to the ancient Library of Alexandria in the 2nd century BCE — a symbol of the early drive to bring worldwide knowledge together in one place.
Earlier, five CoinMarketCap executives left the service four months after Binance acquired it.
