Reddit users prefer Bitcoin to sex

The number of subscribers to the r/Bitcoin subreddit has surpassed the figure for the most popular sex-themed forum. Redditlist data show.

The Bitcoin forum has more than 1.7 million subscribers, while the r/sex subreddit has 1.69 million users.

As of writing, r/Bitcoin ranks 198th in the list of the largest subreddits.

The most popular post in the thread is the December 1, 2017 post stating that Bitcoin exceeded $10,000. The post has more than 48,000 upvotes.

The news that English singer Lily Allen turned down a fee of 200,000 BTC for a concert in 2009 also is among the most popular.

Most often, users’ attention is drawn to posts about bitcoins found in old wallets, as well as about buying expensive cars with cryptocurrency.

The second most popular cryptocurrency subreddit is r/Cryptocurrency, with 1.1 million subscribers.

In May, Reddit launched beta testing of a program to reward users with Ethereum tokens for posting content.
