Back then Snowden said that he first felt the moment to buy Bitcoin, as there was little reason to panic in his view. His intuition did not fail — at the March low Bitcoin was valued at $5,000, and in early December reached a peak above $19 900.
The former NSA employee has become an even more convinced advocate for digital gold.
“Dark times have begun. You can no longer find McChicken on the McDonald’s menu. Today I learned that since 2013 the dollar has lost 99.93% of its value relative to Bitcoin,” he wrote.
