\nTo realise the project, the company acquired the Tailcat open-source search engine. It does not collect IP addresses or use users’ personal information.

\n

“Privacy is becoming mainstream. The Brave browser provides strict protection for users. Brave Search is being developed in accordance with the same principles,” the statement said.

\n

At launch, Brave will offer users a choice of several search engines. In the future, Brave Search will be set as the default in the browser.

\n

The company plans to launch the search engine in late spring or summer 2021. Users can already sign up for early testing.

\n

Earlier, the company began developing its own decentralised cryptocurrency exchange. The launch date is not yet known.

\n

Brave has broadened its product lineup after its monthly active users surpassed 20 million.

\n

In January, the developers of the crypto browser integrated support for the IPFS protocol (\’interplanetary file system\’). In February, the Brave marketplace was augmented with NFTs.
