London court allows Craig Wright to sue Bitcoin.org’s owner
The High Court of London has allowed the self-styled Bitcoin founder Craig Wright to sue the owner of Bitcoin.org, who uses the pseudonym Cobra. Ontier, the law firm, said.
Reuters, citing the ruling, reported that the defendant does not disclose his name, identity or address. The court allowed service of the claim by email or Twitter.
According to Calvin Ayre, founder of Coingeek, Cobra will have to appear or face a default judgment against him. In response, the owner of Bitcoin.org called the author a “loser” and said he would be mistaken if he thinks he can intimidate him.
You’re wrong if you think you can bully me you creepy loser. If I have to give up my pseudonymity to defend Satoshi’s whitepaper, arguably the most important paper of the 21st century, then so be it. https://t.co/YpqXlD8DlP

“If I have to give up my pseudonym to defend Satoshi’s white paper, arguably the most important document of the 21st century, then so be it,” Cobra wrote.
In 2019 Wright registered the copyright to the white paper and the Bitcoin source code. Later the U.S. Copyright Office clarified that it did not recognise him as the creator of the digital gold Satoshi Nakamoto.
In January 2021 Wright accused Bitcoin.org and Bitcoincore.org of copyright infringement and demanded remove the white paper. Cobra refused to take that step. The owner of Bitcoin.org said he was mistaken if he thinks he can intimidate him.
Separately, Ontier’s lawyers contacted the payments company Square, on whose site a copy of the document is posted.
In February, the Cryptocurrency Open Patent Alliance (COPA) demanded that Wright explain on what basis he asserts copyright over the white paper.
In April, the alliance filed a lawsuit against the self-styled Bitcoin creator. COPA representatives demanded that the defendant be acknowledged as not having contributed to the writing of the document.
