Dorsey and Musk Hint at Crypto Discussion Ahead of The B Word

Jack Dorsey proposed to Elon Musk to discuss the topic of cryptocurrencies at the upcoming The B Word event on July 21. The entrepreneurs exchanged a few messages on Twitter.

“Well, then, let’s do this,” Musk replied, adding a winking emoji to the post.

Dorsey also invited Bitcoin skeptic Peter Schiff to join the discussion. In response, he merely confirmed his commitment to gold.

The main problem with fiat currency is that it’s not backed by actual money. #Bitcoin doesn’t fix this. Currency redeemable in money isn’t fiat. Money is a commodity. Currency redeemable in money can substitute for money. Historically the best commodity to use as money is #gold.

Earlier, the founder of Twitter described Bitcoin as the best implementation of online currencies, and his network as a beacon for the Internet. Dorsey confirmed his social network’s ambition for a decentralized future.

Recall that in March Tesla began accepting Bitcoin payments, but in May reversed its decision, citing concerns about the environmental impact of mining.

Later, Musk named a condition for resuming Tesla car sales for the primary cryptocurrency as a confirmed transition of at least half of miners to renewable energy.

In early June, hackers from the Anonymous group declared \”war\” on Elon Musk. They also accused him of market manipulation and criticized Tesla’s business.
