New ‘meme token against Elon Musk’ suspected of fraud

Unknown individuals purporting to be from the hacker collective Anonymous presented the DeFi token Anon Inu, created ‘to oppose Elon Musk and the Chinese government’. Anti-scam activists have already warned users about the potential fraudulent nature of the project.

The authors of the video said that the migration of Chinese miners due to a ban on their activities by the Chinese authorities, and the planned launch of the digital yuan, have driven Bitcoin’s volatility.

The creators of Anon Inu intend to use the token in a ‘war of memes’ with Musk and a ‘cryptocurrency war with China’. The project has no detailed roadmap, but the authors promise holders free tokens, NFTs and other prizes. Some of the proceeds, they say, would allegedly be directed to dog shelters.

The Anonymous BSC project, which positions itself as a group fighting fraud in the crypto industry, warned of a potential exit scam by the Anon Inu team.

“This YouTube channel is run by the same Facebook page that has already duped thousands of people who bought AnonGate and GodToken. The two new projects from this group are ProjectMoon and Anon Inu,” they wrote.

Twitter account @YourAnonNews (6.7 million followers), linked to the real hacker group Anonymous, previously denied involvement with this YouTube channel.

In May, the same unknown actors, under the Anonymous banner, published a video criticizing Elon Musk for his influence on Bitcoin.

At the same time, another group of dissatisfied crypto enthusiasts developed a token ‘Fuck Elon Tweet’ (FUCKELON).

Both events were a response to Musk’s tweet about excessive centralisation and the non-ecological nature of mining, which crashed the price of the leading cryptocurrency.
