Experts uncover dark web sale of European-style COVID certificates for cryptocurrency

Experts at Kaspersky Lab uncovered dark-web advertisements for the sale of European-style COVID vaccination certificates.

The average price is $300. In some listings, payment is stated to be accepted in any cryptocurrency.

Buyers can choose the vaccination country and the vaccine manufacturer: AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Johnson&Johnson or Moderna. The scammers claim that, upon purchase, the customer’s data are entered into a database and the buyer receives a QR code.

Experts note that these listings are mainly designed to defraud users of their money.

Earlier, Coinfirm’s researchers had reported the sale of counterfeit COVID certificates, stolen vaccines and forged doctor signatures for cryptocurrency.
