National Art Museum of Ukraine launches NFT-exhibit sales
On February 1, the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in cooperation with the Estonian startup StampsDaq, launched NFT-art auctions.
Exclusive tokens are available on the NFT marketplace StampsDaq and are divided into five categories depending on rarity. Their price ranges from $25 to $1000.
Each painting is digitised with animation and sound elements.
In the future NFT holders will receive, in addition to the token, museum tickets, a guided tour of the permanent collection, or a thematic tour focusing on a specific historical period.
The NFT collection of the National Art Museum will be replenished every two weeks. It currently includes the following paintings:
- Vsevolod Maksimovich, “Carnival”, 1913;
- Alexander Murashko, “Woman with Flowers”, 1918;
- Alexandra Exter, “Bridge (Sevres)”, 1912;
- Petr Rybka, “Cossack Mamai”, 1855;
- Vsevolod Maksimovich, “Self-Portrait”, 1913.
In the coming years the partners hope to digitise hundreds of museum exhibits.
According to словам of the director of the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Yulia Litvynets, NFTs help reveal the context of the paintings’ creation, while also encouraging audiences to visit the museum in person and study the originals with their own eyes.
In September 2021, an NFT-art auction was held by the State Hermitage. With the help of the Binance NFT marketplace, the museum managed to sell tokens worth more than 32 million rubles.
