Tennis star Naomi Osaka becomes global ambassador for FTX

The Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka has signed an advertising partnership with the FTX exchange. She will create content aimed at attracting women to the crypto industry and the Web3 space.

“We have seen statistics that in the crypto industry there are relatively few women. This partly reflects the existing inequality in financial markets. The original goal of cryptocurrencies was to provide access to all, to break down barriers to entry. I am glad to become a partner of FTX to pursue this mission, as well as to devise ways to attract more people and further democratize the industry,” Osaka said.

Osaka will receive an equity stake in FTX Trading, and profits will be paid to her in cryptocurrencies. Together with FTX, the athlete will create content aimed at reducing the gender gap. In addition, the FTX logo will appear on Osaka’s uniform during her appearance at the Miami Open.

In turn, FTX will help the tennis player invest in cryptocurrencies. The company will also donate funds to Play Academy, the charity founded by Osaka to support young female athletes.

Earlier, the sister of Facebook founder Randy Zuckerberg headed the advisory board of the OKCoin brand to help attract more women to the cryptocurrency sphere.

In November 2021, the American crypto company Circle launched the Circle Impact initiative. One of its directions was a program to fund startups led by women and minority representatives.
