Avalon 1266 has a power efficiency of 35 J/TH. The company said the model is the most compact and quietest in its lineup of devices.
Delivery timelines for the equipment were not disclosed.
At the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami, the company’s Senior Vice President Edward Lu said he planned to expand the manufacturer’s own mining business. In 2021 the company began mining bitcoin in Kazakhstan.
According to Lu, Canaan intends to commence cryptocurrency mining operations in the United States, for which he plans to study the optimal opportunities across various states. The firm also aims to partner with entities focused on using green energy.
“We need to understand these markets. The United States is a highly developed country in the use of clean energy for mining, so I would like to join and learn,” Lu said.
Earlier at Bitcoin 2022, MicroBT unveiled a new line of miners. The flagship Whatsminer M50S delivers a hashrate of 126 TH/s with an energy efficiency of about 26 J/TH.
