Hydra administrator remanded in Russia

On 11 April, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow arrested Dmitry Pavlov, whom authorities call the administrator of the dark-net marketplace Hydra.

In Russia, Pavlov is charged with illegal drug trafficking in particularly large quantities.

The court’s order to remand him in custody has not yet taken effect.

If found guilty, Pavlov faces 15 to 20 years in prison.

Earlier in April, the Northern District Court of California charges Dmitry Pavlov on administering Hydra, providing hosting services for it, conspiring to launder money and distributing drugs.

The Russian said at the time that American authorities had not contacted him, and that he learned of the charges from a BBC journalist.

Earlier, the U.S. Department of the Treasury imposed sanctions against Hydra, and German police confiscated the marketplace’s servers and seized 543 BTC.
