Number of defendants in the Finiko case reaches 22

On 22 April, during a hearing at the Vakhитovsky Court in Kazan on the selection of a measure of restraint for the Finiko site’s curator, the surnames of 22 individuals who attracted money into the financial pyramid were announced. report from local media.

The investigation found that from December 2018 to July 2021, organizers and members of “Finiko” deceived depositors, promising them high returns.

The judge named 22 individuals who “lured people into the pyramid”: Doronin, Zygmuntovich, Sabirov M.R., Sabirov E.I., Shakirov, Nurieva, Akhmetzyanova, Semykin, Larionova, Bozoeva, Galushchenko, Serikova, Mingazov, Gavras, Avdonin, Loskutov, Sambuev, Avdus, Kazachkova, Safin, Sotiriu, Yandolin.

“Acting in conjunction with unidentified individuals as part of an organized group, they stole funds from no fewer than 10,000 citizens for a total of not less than 250 million rubles,” the judge read aloud.

Officially, 13 defendants from this list have been detained.

Earlier this month, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported a series of searches conducted in various regions of Russia and the detention of six people. Among them was the Finiko site’s curator and head of its tech support Anton Semykin, as well as the pyramid’s leader in Buryatia, Bair Sambuev.

Property seized on six defendants amounting to 1.3 billion rubles.

By court order, Anton Semykin was remanded in custody until 20 June. For the other detainees, petitions for remand are also being considered.

As reported, a criminal case has been opened against Finiko for fraud on a large scale. It is being handled by the central apparatus of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in cooperation with the Department for the Investigation of Organized Crime.

Founder Kirill Doronin has been under arrest since the end of July 2021.

Co-founders Edward and Marat Sabirov, as well as Zygmunt Zyghmuntovich, have been placed on an international wanted list and arrested in absentia. According to investigators, they left Russia via Belarus and may be in the United Arab Emirates.

The total damage from Finiko’s activities, according to independent estimates, exceeds $4 billion. The number of victims is at least 850,000 people from Russia and more than a hundred foreign states.

Earlier, Kirill Doronin reached a deal with investigators and gave testimony against 44 accomplices in the pyramid. He did not admit guilt and denied the embezzlement of funds.
