Founder of Finiko points to the ‘real culprits’ behind the pyramid’s collapse

The founder of the Finiko financial pyramid, Kirill Doronin, blamed the collapse of the project on people who had access to Bitcoin accounts. This was reported by KazanFirst.

\n\n

According to Doronin, the principal defendants should be ‘the people from Zygmuntovych’s team’, who handled finances and real estate and had physical access to the funds.

\n\n

Some of the assets were attempted to be sold by the accomplices through the Avito service. Doronin called for their return and for verification of the legality of the purchases as necessary for a ‘full investigation’.

\n\n

He also noted that after searches in the case of the ‘Organization of a financial pyramid’ there were no charges or arrests, and since 3 December 2020 the investigation into it has been suspended.

\n\n

‘The conclusion: there is no basis for charging anyone with a pyramid scheme. In other words, after review there is no crime, because it is not a pyramid,’ the defendant said.

Finiko has been included in the central bank’s blacklist since February 2021 as a company exhibiting signs of a financial pyramid.

\n\n

Doronin added that the sales representatives involved in the sales are not to blame, as the Finiko site ceased processing withdrawals at the time of Zygmunt Zygmuntovych’s disappearance and his group.

\n\n

It is also known that the pyramid’s ‘vice-president’ Dina Ahmetzyanova (Gabdullina) and the ‘tenth star’ Liliya Nurieva had their arrest extended until August 7.

\n\n

The investigation was extended until August 28, 2022. An informed source did not rule out the inclusion of a charge of ‘Organized Crime Group’ in the case.

\n\n

As previously reported, Finiko faces a criminal case over large-scale fraud.

\n\n

Founder Kirill Doronin is under arrest since the end of July 2021. Co-founders Edward and Marat Sabirov, as well as Zygmunt Zygmuntovych, have been placed on an international wanted list and arrested in absentia.

\n\n

The aggregate losses from Finiko’s activities, according to independent estimates, exceed $4 billion. The number of victims is no less than 850,000.

\n\n

Earlier, as part of a deal with the investigation, Kirill Doronin gave testimony against 44 accomplices. He did not admit his guilt and denied embezzling funds.

\n\n

The total number of suspects in the Finiko case reached 22 people.
